Created in the ambit of the National Museum project, the Sal museum opens as a space for knowledge, leisure, promotion and dissemination of culture. It is a space that allows Cape Verdeans and foreigners to know a little about the island and its inhabitants.
The museum presents the natural salt flats, the population, fruit of people coming mainly from São Nicolau and Boa Vista. It also shows the presence of foreigners who have shaped the face and daily life of this island.
The crystal clear waters of Santa Maria, the long white sand, the natural pool of Buracona, the singer Ildo Lobo the pianist Tututa Évora the typical roof houses and two waters in Espargos the cosmopolitanism of the village founded by the genius of Manuel António Martins are the hallmarks of this salty island.
